The Special Victims Unit is a highly specialized unit responsible for the investigation of sexual batteries, sex crimes against children, child abuse, and the location of missing persons. All of these crimes can be high profile and require diligent investigation by seasoned detectives. The detectives assigned to this unit work closely with the Department of Children and Families, the Child Protection Team, the Child Abduction Response Team, Adult Protective Services, and the State Attorney’s Office.
